What is a surgical guide for a dental implant?

Surgical guides are an invaluable tool for a dentist looking to take the guesswork out of the placement procedure. They are a custom-designed mold that allows the surgeon to place implants (either individual teeth or a full set of dentures) with exact precision.

The surgical guide acts as a road map for the surgeon when they are drilling holes or placing implants. With guided surgery, dentists are able to offer their patients a higher level of precision and accuracy than ever before.

How our dental implant surgical guides are created?

To create a surgical guide, ConeScan first performs a CBCT scan in order to analyze the patient’s unique jawbone structure and anatomy. We then use this data to create a plan using computer- aided design software.

We use state-of-the-art medical 3D printing to produce the surgical guide. This plan gives us precise directions on where and how best to place the implant, so that we can ensure optimal function and aesthetics with minimal risk of tissue or nerve damage.
